Your Dog, my Cat - What positive can we learn from Pets?

- ''It is one of the most obvious things in the world. I love my Pet for life, and without it I could't live properly. Do you have a dog or a cat?'' - Anonymous.

Working with pets as a positive addition to work and life is one of the most effective strategy for ongoing learning and development. All what we can learn from activities related to positive emotions is a bridge to further progress in well-being. What we can learn from contacts with animals is uniquely related to our own personality traits, and on that basis we can build a reasonable positive relationship with emotionally engaged ''friend''. Whether it is near future related to further emotional progress or/and improvement in overall idea of wellness, pet therapy opens up priceless values. Well-being and Wellness, that follow this method of personal development and improvement, is an argument for considering it as a regular addition to life, if not work.

''A dog is the only thing on earth that loves you more than you love yourself.'' - Josh Billings.

Dogs as one of the most loyal animals in the world. They are seen as the best examples for a ''perfect friend'' for all those, who need unconditional love. This certainty, that gives hope and ongoing positive reinforcement enables to build a strong relationship with one's own positive attitude towards life, work, other people and future goals. It is popular to think, that pets are our best friends and all what comes with endorphins being generated during contacts with them are the best proof for that certain optimism - (check the science news here). Dogs as one of the best therapists are not only a positive addition to a day of a person with full good health, but also and maybe most of all they are great ''friends'' to all who need to improve their well-being via systematic therapy. Being able to see the incentives, that a dog can bring to the table, when negotiating everyday endorphins increase, is needed for an optimal well-being we seek to gain. Having fun when working or/and playing with dogs is a meaningful way of spending time. Each time we need a moment and everywhere where positive emotions are valued, especially at times when we can become: ''less professional'' according to tough business world, pet presence is a handy addition. Team building, positive reinforcement at the workplace and/or in public spaces are just a few ways of making pet therapy yet another attitude in our everyday reality.

''Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea.'' - Robert A. Heinlein

Cats, just like dogs are therapist for life, and all what they can bring to one's own reality begins with the famous: ''Prrrrrrrr....''. Cats companionship leave a positive addition inside the immune system, and these ''kind therapists'' belong to the most gentle and quiet endorphin releasers. ''Quiet kind therapists'', meaning, cats that let us enact positive emotions, and in the long term feelings related to this experience, play a crucial part of one's own integrity. Emotional Intelligence as well as humorous attitude towards reality can be one of benefits of this type of phenomenological value, that cats bring to humans life. Whether we are happy to see then, play with them, feed them, they can become, just like dogs, not only our ''best friends'', but also a nice break in between juggling with busy daily schedule. Each time we realize what cats can inspire in our own emotive life can be creatively added into all what is a positive embodiment of such emotion. Inspirations are many for all that can be achieved by making use of cats therapy, even if we do not like or do not recognize it as a therapy at all. Some say, that cats have sixth sense and they ''just know'' by looking via our eyes what we are - or at least we have an impression that thry know each time we want to relate to a face of yet another ''being'' in a meaningful way. But then without being too imaginative and ''magical'' in stereotypical way, others may think, that cats are just cats and all what we can learn from their gaze truly belongs to our own conscious SELF.

Owning a pet, working with animals, living in surroundings that have pets presence, being involved in a Pet Therapy for personal improvement, learning and development, making a pet one's own ''friend for life'' or simply liking pet's companion is definitely a positive lesson in not daily, then at least ''from time to time'' wisdom. I personally like to see the effects of positive reinforcement that can be achieved by connecting with animals. As an Occupational Therapist, working with different pets, but most of all dogs and cats, I will always value and raise awareness of what can we learn from them. At the end of the day there is unconditional love, that makes a difference, and it would be a shame not to notice it.

So, what do you choose a CAT or a DOG?

Happy watching! :)

P.s .... have you seen that dolphin video yet? :) It's really good! ;)

Author's addition:'' I think every participant of the creative process contributes values strictly connected to such a different embodiment of feelings and emotions, that the ''love''part can never be interpreted exactly the same. As our emotive perception is different with different creative participation all what enacted with love is making long lasting mark in the overall creative process.'' - read more here
